AIMEE SIEGEL: SEATTLE IS THE COLOR OF SEA AND MIST. By Karina Sprinkle
Local artist, designer, and stylist Aimee Siegel recently created a series of mixed media art called "City Pieces." Each one was created with scraps of things she's collected on her travels, and then layered with acrylic paint and an assortment of papers - handmade, vintage and others. Things like train tickets, museum stubs, shopping bags, airline itineraries, candy wrappers, etc. were used in each piece. This particular one is called "Seattle." Her first view of the city was from a ferry, riding in through the beautiful mist and wind. Those layers of blue and gray tones are forever stored in Aimee's memory and this piece reflects that and recollects her first glimpse of the skyline. Aimee has created a poem to accompany each City Piece. To see more of Aimee's City Pieces please visit her online shop at AimeeSiegelCreates.com.
